On the 15th of June, our partner Umberto Oliva will open the first conference of PEOPIL (Pan European Organization of Personal Injury Lawyers) Occupational Health and Workplace Accidents European Exchange Group,   which will be held in Thessaloniki, Greece.

Umberto, Chair of the Occupational Health and Workplace Accidents European Exchange Group, will present an “Introductory report” focused on the risks in the contemporary world of work and on the role and the challenges that lie ahead of lawyers who work in this field on behalf of the victims.

The English barristers Philip Mead and Matthew Chapman, will respectively speak about the responsibilities of European enterprises in relation to workplace accidents occurring in non-EU subcontracting companies, and about the conflicts of laws issues Brexit has raised in cross-border workplace accidents.

Subsequently, three panels about current and very interesting topics will be held: injuries and work related illness suffered by seafarers,  injuries in construction – especially those suffered by immigrant workers-, damages caused by Long-Covid aftermath suffered by health workers.

The panels will take advantage from the participation of lawyers coming from the US and all across Europe (Greece, Romania, Czech Republic, Germany, Poland and the Netherlands, Spain and the United Kingdom).

It will undoubtfully be a stimulating event, as well as a wonderful occasion to unveil our OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH AND WORKPLACE ACCIDENTS EUROPEAN EXCHANGE GROUP.
